The Board of Trustees supports the very competent leadership team and the extremely high standards of teaching provided by the staff at Tawa Intermediate. There is a strong student base; with high achievements academically, culturally, socially and sportswise. The school has specialist subjects and, therefore, we are able to provide expert teachers in these areas. These subjects include performing arts, visual art, food and materials technology, science, and information literacy. We are committed to ensuring that we utilise 21 st century digital technologies to not only engage our students but to also equip them for future learning. Our students have access to computers in their classrooms and in a fully equipped computer lab.

The Board, with parent support, is keen to see the school remain strong, and vibrant. The high quality education offered by the school is so critical prior to pupils moving on to secondary school. A positive, supportive relationship exists with Tawa College to aid in this transition.

An informative relationship exists between the parent community and the school through regular newsletters, parent evenings, and other initiatives. The school communicates regularly with parents and advises them of the dates of Board meetings that they are very welcome to attend. Board members are also available to discuss any matters that may concern you about the way the school is governed. Contacts can be made through the school office.
