Welcome to Tui Syndicate’s Home Learning page
Expectations
In Tui Syndicate there is an emphasis on managing self (Key Competency). However you may need to ask your parents to help you with some of the following tasks:
- Read
for at least 15 minutes a night. This could be reading to yourself, reading for someone else or sharing the reading with others in the family. It’s a great idea to talk about what you are reading. Reading resources are available at the
school library and Tawa Library.
- Practise your basic facts tests.
- Practise your spelling.
- Complete at least five of the unit tasks from different sections each term.
Spelling Home Learning Programme:
We will be using the Essential Spelling lists, a series of school spelling lists and the De’Ath Spelling
Programme. Once you have been assigned a spelling level you will be
given a list or a book in class that will be your weekly spelling list.
You are expected to write out your spelling list into your spelling homework book and complete one of these activities each week:
(For most of these activities remember to underline spelling
words.)
