Expectations

In Tui Syndicate there is an emphasis on managing self (Key Competency). However you may need to ask your parents to help you with some of the following tasks:

  • Read for at least 15 minutes a night. This could be reading to yourself, reading for someone else or sharing the reading with others in the family. It’s a great idea to talk about what you are reading. Reading resources are available at the school library and Tawa Library.
  • Practise your basic facts tests.
  • Practise your spelling.
  • Complete at least five of the unit tasks from different sections each term.

Spelling Home Learning Programme:

We will be using  the Essential Spelling lists, a series of school spelling lists and the De’Ath Spelling Programme. Once you have been assigned a spelling level you will be given a list or a book in class that will be your weekly spelling list.
