Term 1:

In Creative Thinking the 3 classes will rotate to spend one session of 1 1/2 hours a week for 4 weeks with each teacher in Tui Syndicate. We will be looking at different aspects of ancient Italy as part of our citizenship study of Pompeii.

Mr Van den Borst will be taking Science and Geography and looking at earthquakes and volcanic activity.

Mrs Christie will be looking at the Art of ancient Pompeii - murals, mosaics and frescoes  and each class will create their own mural.

Mrs Chalk will take technology and each class will look at constructions from ancient Italy eg aquaducts, arches and bridges and will construct these in groups.

We will all be linking this work with the Key competencies:

Managing self

Participating.

Term 2 and Term 3 (weeks 1-6)
Each class will be rotating through 3 different Languages for 4 weeks each- Te Reo Maori, Spanish and French.

Term 3 week 7-10:
Each class will work on Science experiments.

These will all be assessed according to the Key Competencies.
