Tena Koe!  

I would like to extend a very warm welcome to the students and families considering enrolling at Tawa Intermediate School.  

Tawa Intermediate is a vibrant, friendly learning community with a focus on building positive relationships and providing a wide range of diverse learning experiences for emerging adolescence. Our team of staff are committed to a focus not just on progress and achievement, but also on meeting the needs of the WHOLE child.  

Situated in the Tawa Valley, and built on the land of Ngati Toa Rangatiratanga (iwi), our school has served our community for 50 years.  We have strong links with our contributing schools and with Tawa College, and provide strong transition both into and out of our school.

While a focus on mathematics and English is a key part of our daily programme,  an ever-changing range of sports, technological and creative pursuits is available to engage learners and support their budding identity.  Our specialist teaching programme and weekly academies provide an opportunity for learners to excel and apply their learning in different contexts.

Our school leadership team (myself and Emma Stylianidis (Deputy Principal) and Keith Rickard (Deputy Principal)), alongside our excellent teachers, would be happy to meet with you regarding your child’s enrolment. Please contact the school office to make an appointment.
