Reporting

With the Ministry of Education’s updated curriculum and reporting requirements now in effect, we want to ensure you have a clear understanding of what these changes mean for your child.

From 2026, all New Zealand schools are required to follow a nationally consistent reporting framework. Twice a year, you will receive a report that includes:

Progress Descriptors:  Labels (Emerging, Developing, Consolidating, Proficient, or Exceeding) for Reading, Writing, and Maths.
A Personal Narrative: A teacher’s explanation of why a specific descriptor was chosen, including next steps for learning.
Visual Progress Graphs: A data-driven look at how your child is tracking over time.
Attendance Data: Highlighting the direct link between being at school and achieving.
